A school management system that respects the Montessori method.

Multi-age classrooms, observation-based progress reports, individual learning plans — Edunile’s flexible structure lets Montessori schools operate authentically while still benefiting from automated fees and parent updates.

What you get

  • Multi-age classroom support
  • Observation-based (non-graded) report cards
  • Configurable suppression of class rankings
  • Lessons-mastered tracking per child
  • Standard fee, attendance, and communication automation
  • Parent-facing progress narratives

Why standard SMS tools fail Montessori schools

Most school management systems assume an age-graded structure (Class 1 = age 6, Class 2 = age 7, and so on) and a graded report card with letter grades and exam scores. Montessori schools don’t work that way. A Pre-Primary 1 environment might hold children aged 3 to 6, with each child progressing on their own timeline through individual learning plans. Standard SMS tools force you to assign letter grades to children who shouldn’t be receiving them.

Edunile’s configuration accommodates the Montessori model. You can define multi-age classrooms (Pre-Primary, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, Adolescent Programme), enable observation-based progress reporting instead of graded reports, and disable competitive ranking features (positions in class) that conflict with Montessori philosophy.

Observation-based progress reports

Edunile supports a non-graded report card variant designed for Montessori. Each report records the child’s presentations and lessons mastered in each area of the prepared environment (Practical Life, Sensorial, Mathematics, Language, Cultural), with a guide’s narrative observation and parent invitation to a follow-up conversation.

These are still PDF reports delivered via WhatsApp or email — the operational efficiency of Edunile’s delivery system, applied to the Montessori format your school requires.

Fees, attendance, and parent updates work the same way

The non-pedagogical parts of running a Montessori school are essentially the same as any other school — collect fees, mark attendance, communicate with parents. Edunile handles all of these with no modifications. Consolidated bills, Paystack/Flutterwave payments, daily attendance via WhatsApp alerts, broadcast announcements all work identically.

Common questions

Can we customise the report card to use Montessori terminology?

Yes. Schools can edit the report card section labels (Practical Life, Sensorial, Cultural, etc.), the observation narrative format, and which fields appear.

Do we have to use letter grades?

No. The Montessori report card variant uses observation narratives and lesson-mastery indicators rather than letter grades.

Can a child move between programmes mid-year?

Yes. Edunile supports mid-year classroom transitions, which is common in Montessori environments where children move based on developmental readiness rather than age.
