Why standard SMS tools fail Montessori schools
Most school management systems assume an age-graded structure (Class 1 = age 6, Class 2 = age 7, and so on) and a graded report card with letter grades and exam scores. Montessori schools don’t work that way. A Pre-Primary 1 environment might hold children aged 3 to 6, with each child progressing on their own timeline through individual learning plans. Standard SMS tools force you to assign letter grades to children who shouldn’t be receiving them.
Edunile’s configuration accommodates the Montessori model. You can define multi-age classrooms (Pre-Primary, Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, Adolescent Programme), enable observation-based progress reporting instead of graded reports, and disable competitive ranking features (positions in class) that conflict with Montessori philosophy.
